Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:This study focuses on the analysis of a group of Latin and Greek inscriptions mostly coming from Ancient Latium. They are part of a manuscript file attached to a printed volume by Hesiod dating back to 1537. The volume is now kept in the ‘Biblioteca Vallicelliana’ of Rome. The book was part of the collection belonging to the Lusitan Aquiles Estaço, better known by the latinized name Achilles Statius, and thus he was identified as the author of the attached manuscript. However, for various reasons, his authorship has been questioned and this explains Hermann Dessau’s cautious choice to attribute the manuscript to an anonymous author.
