Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:Although the presence of Gallic amphorae in the former province of Lusitania has been known for a long time, there is still little detailed knowledge about this type of container and the existing information is scattered. With this study, we present an updated account of Gaulish amphorae in Lusitania, after carrying out a systematic and exhaustive analysis of the published specimens and assemblages, and including also a significant number of unpublished sets. We then proceed to a brief characterization of the types recognized in the territory and a synopsis about their investigation, before posing a set of five interrelated questions that structure our approach: what? (which types and which products were identified), where? (where were they documented), how much and when? (the proportions of these imports and their fluctuations over time) and how? (geography of their distribution in Lusitania and the trade dynamics).
