Detalhes bibliográficos
Resumo:The main aim of this paper is to present a proposal for reorganizing one of the Maritime Museum's storage areas – the so-called "arrecadação grande" (big storage room). Museum storage is often neglected to the detriment of other activities, as recent reports and studies have repeatedly shown. The Maritime Museum is no exception. This project begins by analyzing the history of the Maritime Museum and the creation of its storage areas, with a particular focus on the "arrecadação grande", characterizing the space and the collections it houses. There is a brief contextualization of the problems that museum storage areas have faced and the solutions that have been put forward to deal with this problem, with particular emphasis on the RE-ORG methodology. This is followed by a diagnosis of the space, through the application of the self-assessment tool proposed by RE-ORG, and a risk assessment, taking into account the agents of deterioration. This exercise resulted in a series of measures to be implemented in order to mitigate the risks to which the storage is exposed, as well as a plan to reorganize the storage area.
