Left-Wing Extremism and the War on Civilization
| Summary: | This chapter maps out the rise, traits, and dominant ideas of groups that reject civilization—equated with a techno-industrial system—on the extreme-left. It explores the impact of anti-civilizational thinking on green anarchism as well as on insurrectionary anarchism, while discussing the influence of the Unabomber on current anti-tech radicalism. The chapter assesses the potential for technophobia to become a main cause of terrorism in the future, as well as the possibility of new convergences between diverse ideological groups coming together in their quest to attack the system and accelerate the collapse of civilization. |
