The demand for a situationist faction to ride the vlouds: A manifesto leveraged by the Internationale Situationniste (I.S.)
| Resumo: | This dissertation attempts through the study of the avant-garde group, Internationale Situationniste (I.S.) and its theory to research an alternative solution on how the situationist theory and its organization could be applied today (2022), to the ongoing scenery of increasingly catastrophic Global Warming consequences to the Earth’s biosphere. Here I propose how a developed European situationist society, as originally thought by the I.S. members would react to such a crisis, taking in consideration as key-proposition of my thesis, that any possible solution by the situationists should have been found among the situationist minority factions, who despite adopting a situationist culture, would also be characterized as those which exhibited a superior sensibility towards the natural world. Then, I determine my hypothesis by having myself impersonate a situationist character, whose background is characterized by these situationist minority factions' cultures and his heroic ideal and archetype in the country life of Iberia, where he is originally from. The young man’s overall part is to manifest himself for the situationists clarity of action over Global Warming consequences, but in particular, he focuses on demanding a situationist inspired solution for the extreme weather events which ravage his region, in particular, the drought, and concludes for the necessary demand for a situationist faction to ride the clouds, which in turn could help all peoples in the world, situationists and non-situationists alike. |
